A Lavender Garden Wedding at 5226 Elm in Houston, Texas

Set in a serene courtyard centered around a pond, Michelle Nquyen (29 and a human resources manager) and Chris Huang’s (31 and software engineer) lavender garden wedding highlighted the elegance of nature.

Michelle’s only requirement was that they work pops of her mom’s favorite color (purple) into the day wherever possible. Metallic shades and neutrals balanced out the dominant hue and kept everything feeling cohesive.

Leaf-patterned gobo lights and leaf-accented escort cards helped carry the garden aesthetic into the indoor reception, and the couple’s small cutting cake was flanked by two lavender macaron towers.

Michelle wore a sleeveless lace dress with a short train and keyhole back for the garden soiree. “I’m too small and clumsy to wear a ‘poofy’ dress, especially near a pond,” she says. She paired the look with jewelry gifted from her parents.
