A Laid-Back Vintage Wedding

Melissa wanted a wedding venue that would highlight the desert. So when she and Chris found the Taliesin West, a Frank Lloyd Wright-designed structure on 500 acres of unspoiled desert in Scottsdale, she liked what she saw. (As it turns out, the site just removed their 50-year policy prohibiting weddings!) The Bride Melissa Bez, 26, legislative aide The Groom Chris Cheatham, 30, attorney The Date October 24 The couple hired a planner to alleviate some of the planning stress, and together they chose colors and understated details that would accentuate the setting. As a fun extra, they also hired docent tour guides to stand throughout the historic buildings and answer questions for guests about the history of the venue.
