A Laid-Back Rustic Wedding at The Alamo Hotel in Los Alamos, California

Molly Tormey and Brandon Gruzen whisked their friends and family off to the quaint town of Los Alamos, California, for a bright rustic bash with a laid-back boho feel. “Los Alamos is this amazing, quirky one street town that we fell in love with when we were dating and we were so excited to share it with all of our closest family and friends,” Molly says. “Our aim was to keep it simple and organic to let the town shine through.” A traditional Jewish ceremony kicked off the festivities. Molly and Brandon substituted a classic chuppah with the long leafy branches of a nearby tree and stood on a vintage rug while they exchanged vows. “We’ll put it in our first home together,” Molly says. Cocktail hour and the reception took place inside The Alamo Hotel, which the newlyweds jazzed up with bright wildflowers, citrus fruits and vintage accents. A popcorn machine, photo booth and a menu of burgers hot off the grill set a fun, fuss-free vibe for the evening. One of Molly and Brandon’s favorite moments was their grand entrance, where they surprised guests with a rap to the tune of “Say He’s Just a Friend” by Biz Markie. “You set the tone for the day. If you are happy, then nothing else really matters,” Molly says. “People will remember seeing your joy and love.”
