A Laid-Back Mountainous Wedding at Inn Der Bach in Big Bear, California

Throughout their relationship, the groom’s orange and black Jeep gave this couple the means to travel and enjoy outdoor activities together, such as hiking, sightseeing and camping. So when time came for Kimmie Wallace (40 and an administrative assistant) and Randall Davis (41 and an IT coordinator) to start choosing a palette for their casual, laid-back wedding in the mountains at Inn Der Bach in Big Bear, California, the peach and gray colors of the beloved Jeep came to mind. “We spend all our free time in our Jeep: camping, hiking and sightseeing,” Kimmie says. “We wanted our wedding party and guests to get a taste of that, along with a fun barbecue in the mountains.” The couple were married on the natural property at Inn Der Bach underneath a grand tree, captured by Lightframe Photo. Flower arrangements were handled by a family friend, the owner of Michael Maxson Florals, who designed the colorful bouquet made of hydrangeas and roses with an orange wrap. In addition to the hundreds of cupcakes, cake pops and many other sweets created by their friends, we loved their two-tier ivory wedding cake with a topper of two California grizzly bears, representing the outdoor-loving couple along with their love for one another. “We had music, dancing and games going on the lawn, including giant Jenga and cornhole,” Kimmie says. “We think what reflected us most as a couple was the amount of fun we made sure was had throughout the day.”
