A Laid-Back, Bohemian Wedding at Misty Farm in Ann Arbor, Michigan

Lindsey Dodge (25 and a writer) and Peter Gudritz (32 and a director of governmental affairs for Dow Chemical) may have been recent transplants to the Mitten State, but their bohemian barn wedding was pure Michigan. "We both wanted our wedding to feel very old-school Michigan, and when we walked onto Misty Farm, we both knew it was perfect for us," Lindsey says. Inspired by an ombre watercolor palette of indigo, purple and blue, the couple worked closely with Anchor Events and Design and Passionflower Events to pull off an intimate farm fete full of personalized details. "Ultimately, we wanted it to really feel like it was ours, so we were all about the details, from the personalized ceremony and family wedding photos hung in the barn to the classic Detroit muscle car that took us away at the end of the night," Lindsey says. Blue-and-white-patterned linens and lush floral arrangements lent a pop of color to the couple's tented reception, but it was Lindsey's gold Sarah Seven gown that stole the show. "The dress had this tight bodice and flowing skirt with a layer of gold, sheer fabric on top," Lindsey says. "It made me feel exactly how I wanted to: beautiful." Plus, there was really no need for a veil. "I wore a flower crown because I wanted Peter to see my face and just how big I was smiling," Lindsey says. Throughout the night, the food-loving newlyweds treated their guests to an array of signature cocktails and eats—including a vintage ice cream truck that served three flavors, like strawberry-basil sorbet (in honor of their Italian honeymoon).
