A Jewish Wedding at The Palmer Building in Charlotte, North Carolina
Marisa Varian (25 and a financial analyst) and Joshua Faigen (32 and a project manager) met as neighbors in Uptown Charlotte—they moved to the city within weeks of each other and lived six doors apart. Their dogs, a shiba inu and a doberman, became best friends, so the couple decided to stay in touch after one of them moved out of the building. Their first date was a “doggy date” for the dogs to play together at a park, followed by dinner and a random encounter with a neighborhood music festival. Joshua proposed at an overlook at the Blue Ridge Parkway surrounded by mountains covered in fall foliage. The couple had a traditional Jewish wedding in Charlotte, North Carolina at The Palmer Building, a rustic building with the charm of an old castle. The golds of autumn leaves inspired the soft and natural color palette for the fall wedding. The ceremony took place outdoors after dark in front of a fireplace, with a glowing chandelier overhead and candles lining the aisle. Marisa and Joshua had one goal in mind for their reception: They wanted everyone dancing the whole night. “We are both very fun-loving and energetic people, and wanted that essence captured throughout the wedding,” says Marisa.
