A Jazz Age-Themed Glam Wedding at Yellowhead Brewery in Edmonton, Alberta
Amy Gillespie (30 and a legal assistant) and Scott Toms (31 and an electrician) wanted to capture a bit of the Jazz Age for their wedding, with a hint of lawlessness that could be found only at a 1920s New York speakeasy. "I adore the fashion and lifestyle of that era, the way everyone got dressed to the nines and yet was anything but stuffy," Amy says. A palette of metallics, especially gold, went with the thrifted old glass liquor bottles, pearls and mirrors used throughout. Amy's gorgeous gown also embodied the Jazz Age theme: She wore a heavy satin bias-cut slip gown, with an open back trimmed in sequins and embellished lace. The ceremony was held in the amphitheater at the Citadel Theatre in Edmonton, Alberta, surrounded by gorgeous architecture and beautiful greenery, where the couple's adorable son, Connor, entered the ceremony in a vintage red wagon. The reception was held at Yellowhead Brewery in Edmonton, Alberta. "The raw vibe given off by our reception venue, a microbrewery with brick walls and worn-down pillars, perfectly balanced the swankiness of the decor," Amy says.
