A Homey Outdoor Wedding at The Barn at High Point Farms in Flintstone, Georgia
Jennifer Loo (31 and in public health) met Bryan Farrar (31 and in sales operations) when she crashed his 30th birthday party. The met again the following with through dinner with a mutual friend but Bryan had to keep chasing Jennifer for a few more weeks before she'd agree to go out on their first date. The rest is history and Bryan proposed to Jennifer during a hike on her birthday weekend. "After Bryan popped the question, we had a nice dinner then returned to Atlanta, where he had also arranged for a surprise 'birthday party' with all of their friends and family," says Jennifer. "We in turn surprised everyone with their with our engagement!" In just four months, the couple planned a rustic outdoor wedding at The Barn at High Point Farms in Flintstone, Georgia. "We chose to get married there because it's such a serene spot—the farm is located in a valley right at the foot of the mountains," says Jennifer. "We're both pretty laid back and we wanted an environment that was low key and allowed our guests to relax and enjoy the day." A coral and gray color palette accented with bright wildflowers warmed the August celebration with a southern DIY theme. To decorate their relaxed day, Jennifer and Bryan utilized quilts, family heirlooms, burlap and mason jars and even had guests sign pieces of fabric to be turned into a quilt. "Since we got married on a small family-run farm, we wanted to keep with a rustic vintage theme," says Jennifer. "The venue had a lot of decor they let us use— farm tables, vintage furniture, old lanterns, steel tubs, tree stumps and rounds and chalkboards that we could work with throughout the pasture and barn." Because they got married during one of the hottest times of the year, Jennifer and Bryan ended the night with popsicles from King of Pops instead of a traditional groom's cake. Bryan and Jenn's wedding day was an absolute dream! The location was perfect! Picture beautiful mountains as your backdrop and a quaint little farm. The Barn at High Point Farms was the perfect location for these two to get married! The laid back atmosphere went perfectly with their personalities. Jenn said that her favorite memory from the day was being surrounded by so many family and friends who have loved, encouraged and supported them through the years. It really was just that, a giant party with Jenn and Bryan surrounded by all those who loved them! And Jenn and Bryan had some wonderful friends and family there to help pull everything together! The reception and ceremony decorations were flawless put together by family friends. They also did all of the flowers themselves, getting the buds from the local farmer's market! I loved the King of Pops popsicles instead of a groom's cake. All of the quilts, bottles, and old suitcases were family heirlooms that were incorporated into the wedding day decorations. Such a beautiful couple and wedding!
