A Homegrown Rustic Wedding at a Private Residence in New Hampshire

Ashley Polson (24, an Art Teacher) and Tim Polson (25, a Structural Engineer) met in middle school through an after school program. Tim proposed by scheduling a tour of a local lighthouse after a suggestion to Ashley that she should start painting lighthouses. "We got to go up into the top of the lighthouse - just the two of us - where my legs were shaking because I'm terrified of heights," Ashley recalls. "We were out on the catwalk in the bitter cold when he proposed. I was shaking all over from the cold, heights and now excitement!" Ashley says. The couple decided on a homegrown rustic theme at Ashely's parent's farm. "We did almost everything ourselves, including planting over 1,500 zinnias in my parent's greenhouse and garden along with the construction of a wedding ceremony canopy made of hemlock saplings and garden cover fabric," Ashley describes. A unique touch? Ashley's parent's grounds has a large grass airstrip which allowed for a memorable ceremony entrance for Ashley--in a plane flown by her Dad!
