A History and Science-Themed Wedding at The Depot in Duluth, Minnesota

While planning their May wedding at The Depot in Duluth, newlyweds Jenna (26 and a science teacher) and Jamie (27 and a history teacher) made sure to keep their middle school students in mind. "Being teachers, we threw in items like antique globes and microscopes into the reception decor," Jenna explains. "We even used a giant globe as our guest book!" All school-themed accents aside, the couple knew they wanted their venue to reflect their love of historic Duluth. "The Depot is a historic train station downtown and it fit our classy, yet rustic style," the bride says. "They graciously opened up all of the exhibits downstairs during our cocktail hour so guests could take part in the culture of the city we love." The newlyweds (and breakfast enthusiasts) even made sure to incorporate their favorite meal into their special day. "We're total breakfast people, so we brought in the one and only Duluth Grill to treat our guests to 'grinner' – breakfast for dinner," Jenna says. ?Sticking with their breakfast theme, the couple even opted for a caramelized apple French Toast station in lieu of a traditional wedding cake. "Ultimately, we centered our wedding around providing our family and friends with a taste of Duluth life," the bride says.
