A Historic Vintage-Inspired Wedding at B & O Station Banquet Hall in Youngstown, Ohio
Guests were transported back in time at this vintage-inspired wedding, which took place at a former train station built in the early 1900s. When Maegan Bellino (27 and a photographer) and Louis Kopachy (27 and a grocery store manager) came across the B & O Station Banquet Hall in Youngstown, Ohio, they knew it was the perfect venue for their vintage style and decor. “My mother and I go thrifting all the time, so most of the decor were items we found at thrift stores and flea markets,” Maegan says. The ceremony took place outside on the deck with a backdrop of the Mahoning River, where the couple said their vows underneath an archway made of branches wrapped in lace linens, captured by Swatch Studios. The reception was then moved indoors to the venue’s banquet hall, and guests were seated at their dining table dressed in white tablecloths and lace linens, which were decorated with centerpieces of vintage books, cameras and small flower arrangements. The color palette was made up of romantic shades of champagne, blush, white and gray, which was reflected in the wedding party’s attire that also embodied the vintage theme. The bridesmaids picked out their own lace cocktail dresses in different styles and shade, while the groomsmen wore gray suspenders complemented by beige bow ties. One of our favorite (and sweetest) details was the wedding cake covered in cream cheese frosting and filled with pumpkin flavoring, reflecting the current fall season as well as the vintage theme with their silhouette cake topper. “Our cake topper was a silhouette of a bride and a groom, but I had it custom made to add the silhouettes of our dogs, who are our kids,” Maegan says.
