A Hawaii Inspired Wedding at the Sandpearl Resort in Clearwater Beach, Florida

Beach loving couple Michelle Gianfalla, a Hyatt wedding coordinator, 29, and Brian Christie, a Ritz Carlton restaurant manager, 28, brought Maui to Florida for their Hawaiian inspired wedding, says Michelle. After spending childhood summers with her family in Maui, Michelle knew she wanted a wedding that embraced the Hawaiian culture and overall atmosphere. Keeping this in mind, the couple chose raspberry and tangerine as their wedding colors. Their wedding incorporated multiple aspects inspired by the island state including a custom made surfboard guest book, palm leaves in their floral arrangements and Honolulu Cookie favors flown in from Maui. The day also included fun personal touches. The groomsmen wore blue ties with a beer and palm tree design. Michelle wore multicolored glitter Kate Spade slingbacks to add a pop of color to her wedding dress.Michelle and Brian were married at St. Brendan Catholic Church in Clearwater Beach, Florida, and took pictures on the beach after the ceremony. Guests enjoyed a tangerine and raspberry covered reception at the Sandpearl Resort in Clearwater Beach, Florida. One aspect of their relationship that was just as unique as their wedding, was the way Michelle and Brian met. While they had the same major at the Pennsylvania State University, took a class together and had mutual friends, they did not meet until both moved to St. Petersburg, Florida. Only then did Michelle and Brian find each other on Linkedin and meet. They were married in March 2014.
