A Green, White and Blue Wedding at the Sutherland in Wake Forest, North Carolina

Green, white and blue never looked so good together. Basing the colors off their favorite green hue, Amanda Sayed (28 and a pediatrician) and Paul Zarick’s (30 and a pediatric ICU nurse) palette only enhanced the beauty of the garden area and rustic spaces at the Sutherland in Wake Forest, North Carolina.  “The Sutherland was simple yet absolutely gorgeous and perfect for us,” Amanda says. They started the day with a sweet outdoor ceremony. Amanda's bridesmaids started the procession in short clover green dresses as she followed down the aisle with a lush arrangement of green mini hydrangeas and white peonies from Fresh Affairs. Once Amanda and Paul said “I do,” their celebration continued with an open-air reception in the pavilion. Each table was met with a trio of floating tealight candles surrounded by low blue and white hydrangea centerpieces. “When our florist told us he had his own hydrangea farms with blue hydrangeas, we couldn't resist,” Amanda says. From the moment guests found their place card, they were prompted onto the dance floor. A DJ from Ninety Nine Entertainment played in the background as all showed off their best dance moves. Amanda and her maid of honor even did a special dance to Will Smith's “Gettin' Jiggy Wit It.” After all enjoyed a slice of Amanda and Paul’s four-tier white and green wedding cake, they finished the night with a final dance and a few DIY favors filled with their favorite snacks: Heath bars and Goldfish.
