A Green and Gray Simple Wedding at Veritas Community Church in Columbus, Ohio
A simple, natural color palette of green and gray decorated this classic wedding—from the bridesmaid dresses in a variety of styles to the bouquet accented with greenery and branches. Since Amber Swords (24 and in camp ministry) and Chuck Spears (33 and a camp director) are both originally from Ohio, they had their ceremony and reception in Columbus, which was a convenient location for their families, among those who filled a familiar church with people they knew and loved. Amber chose the first dress she found at David’s Bridal, which was an elegant fitted ivory wedding dress with sleeves that she paired with brown leather oxfords. A pop of color was added to the look with bright red lipstick, and her hair was tightly pulled back into a high bun that revealed elegant, simple studs, all beautifully captured by Katelynn Dow Photography. The white and green bridal bouquet was a mix of lisianthus, eucalyptus, rosemary and white stock with white wax flowers added into the mix, arranged by the Flowerman Columbus. Chuck sported a dark gray jacket with a lighter blue button-up shirt underneath, paired with gray pants and brown leather shoes. We absolutely loved the way the muted gray and green bridesmaid dresses in different shades and styles blended together, individually picked out by the girls themselves. “Not knowing what style or color each would go with, I was a bit nervous to see how it would turn out, but all the dresses ended up complementing one another superbly,” Amber says.
