A Gold Waterfront Wedding at Chippewa Hotel in Mackinac Island, Michigan
Elegant gold and ivory accents lent a timeless touch to Sarah Keeker (28 and a wedding planner) and Jacob "Jake" Agee's (33 and an attorney) waterfront affair. “The fabric felt like pure heaven,” Sarah says of her ivory A-line sheath. Despite her full-time job as a wedding planner, coordinating their island “I dos” proved to be a challenge for Sarah, who worked in tandem with a coworker to plan their summer fete. “It’s tough to deliver items to an island that doesn’t allow cars,” she says of Mackinac’s preference of bikes and horses over motor vehicles. Shortly after sealing the deal at Windermere Point, Sarah and Jake boarded a horse-drawn carriage for postceremony photos around the island before joining guests at the Chippewa Hotel for dinner. In addition to organic arrangements of antique hydrangeas and dahlias, textured ivory linens and seasonal fruit topped reception tables for an overgrown look. Individual crème brûlées were served for dessert, along with peanut butter and dark-chocolate-sea-salt fudge from Joann’s Fudge on Main Street. Stemless champagne flute escort cards doubled as favors.
