A Glamorous White Wedding at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts in Kansas City, Missouri
Christine Weston (31) married Sean Wetherspoon (29 and a professional athlete) in a traditional Catholic ceremony followed by a classically beautiful white and gold indoor reception at the naturally bright Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts in Kansas City, Missouri. “The Kauffman Center is a beautiful building," Christine says. "We both went to the University of Missouri in Columbia. It was only right to go with a black and gold palette—our school colors.” For the reception, Christine changed from her gown into a white wide-legged suit, perfect for dancing. The decor at the Kauffman Center consisted of white linens, mirrors, all-white flowers and gold accents. “I knew I wanted a lot of flowers, all white, no greenery and zero carnations,” Christine says. “I told my florist those things, and she made it happen. I wish I could have had more flowers, but I was cut off.” After grooving to Outkast songs performed by a live jazz band, guests were treated to a gelato cart, two wedding cakes and a taco truck. For wedding favors, guests were given T shirts imprinted with hearts and “KC,” for Kansas City. “Don't overthink it, and get a wedding planner,” Christine says. “Our planner was amazing. Because of her, Sean and I were able to enjoy our day.” —Carolyn Meers
