A Glamorous, Whimsical Beach Wedding at Casa Marina, a Waldorf Astoria Resort, in Key West, Florida

As frequent visitors of Key West who fell in love with the beach at the Casa Marina Resort, Kara Kendrick (26 and a personal trainer) and Trey Quirk (28 and works in health care) blended elegance with the laid-back Keys vibe they adore for their winter celebration.

Natural grass accents, driftwood and orchids paired with Ghost chairs created the ceremony’s ambience.

The couple’s wedding color palette popped up in everything from the boutonnieres to the food, including the watercolor-inspired coconut cake with cream cheese filling, Key lime-marinated ceviche and raw bar with oysters on the half shell. “It all came together wonderfully,” Kara says.

“The watercolor flowers on the stationery were the inspiration behind the floating garden that hung above and illuminated the long reception table,” Kara says. Flowers in shades of blue, peach and pink with gold accents hung overhead, while candles in lanterns and orbs added a sense of elegance. 

Kara’s dress was actually a top and skirt. For dancing, she swapped the ball gown look for a shorter skirt.
