A Glamorous Wedding at the The Sandpearl Resort in Clearwater Beach, Florida

Aubrey Wenzel, a patient coordinator, 33, and Llewellyn (Yo) Murphy, a former NFL player, met through mutual friends. After developing a friendship and winning a coed golf tournament, they began to date. Yo proposed on the couple’s gazebo with their bulldog, Moose. “It was perfect,” says Aubrey. The couple chose hues of pink, white, silver and gold as their wedding colors. Both the ceremony and reception were bathed in pink lighting and held at the Sandpearl Resort in Clearwater Beach, Florida, for sentimental reasons. “We use to go to the Sandpearl for weekend getaways while we were dating, so it was special for us,” says Aubrey. The couple decorated their ceremony with tall arrangements of white and pink roses as well as white hydrangeas at the beginning of the aisle. Their wedding arch was decorated with white fabric and the same flowers arranged around the top and side of it. Both the couple’s groomsmen and bridesmaids dressed in formal black attire. The bridesmaids wore floor-length black dresses while the men complemented them in classic black tuxedos. Aubrey and Yo had a sand mixing ceremony in front of 180 members of their friends and family. Guests then moved into the cocktail hour area where a steel drum band played in the background. During the reception, Aubrey and Yo’s guests were served a seated meal of either chicken, steak or sea bass. A candy bar, photo booth and Viennese dessert station were available for guests after dinner. “One of my dear friends from college was our DJ, so that was also very special,” says Aubrey. Later that night, the couple provided their guests with a late night snack bar of sliders, donuts and empanadas.
