Emily Daniell (27 and an assurance associate) and Austin Brooks (27 and a senior analyst) met while respectively attending Ursuline Academy and Jesuit College Preparatory high schools in Dallas, Texas. They continued to visit each other throughout their college years, but after a few dates of just hanging out as friends, they realized they had fallen for each other. Almost five years later, on Emily’s birthday weekend, Austin whisked Emily away on a “last minute” trip to Napa, California. “Little did I know that a picture perfect picnic awaited us on the side of Howell Mountain overlooking the Valley, where Austin got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him,” says the bride. Emily and Austin were married at Christ the King Church in Dallas, Texas, the city where they met and grew up. After they said their vows, the reception kicked off in the atrium of the 42nd Floor Club at Cityplace Events in Dallas, Texas. The couple opted for neutral tones with silver and gold accents throughout their decor for a classic, glamorous atmosphere. After dancing well past midnight, a trumpet trio led the couple’s grand exit as they were showered with confetti by their loved ones and rode off in a vintage Rolls Royce. “Austin and I have a very laid-back and exciting kind of love,” says Emily. “I feel that our wedding day exuded this, as it was a relaxing and very fun day for all involved.”

The couple’s love of wine was incorporated in the customized miniature champagne bottles they gave guests as favors.
Emily and Austin made their first toast as husband and wife with silver goblets that were used by both of Emily’s grandparents and parents in their weddings. “Family is very important to us, so it was very special,” says the bride.
The Ice House Band immediately started playing all of the couple’s favorite songs as the entered the party. “We felt that having a fun and memorable bend was one of the most important decisions of our reception,” says Emily.
