A Glamorous Southern Reception at Biltmore Ballrooms in Atlanta, Georgia

Nicole Brakovich (27 and an audiologist at WellStar Health System) loved the idea of hosting her happy day in the same place where hundreds of balls had been thrown in years past and invited guests to celebrate her nuptials to Steven Shields (26 and a geographic information systems specialist at GeoResults) at the Biltmore Ballrooms in Atlanta, Georgia, after a traditional church ceremony at Cathedral of Christ the King. “I loved the fact that we could just set some tables up and add some beautiful floral arrangements and you had this stunning setting in the middle of midtown Atlanta," says Nicole. The bride planned her wedding around the idea of a classic Southern wedding with glamour, unexpected touches and pure romance. A gold, peach and white color palette with black accents enhanced the sophisticated feel of the ballroom reception. "I was set on incorporating peaches into the reception as much as possible as an ode to the state in which Steven and I met and planned to start our married life in," says Nicole. Peaches were used throughout the floral arrangements and the peach Bellini specialty cocktail. The refined tablescapes included Victorian ivory linens with black napkins and gold chargers. "Since the ballroom really fulfilled the classic and glamour portions of my vision, I had fun with the peaches, our nontraditional guest poster, the caricature artist instead of a photo booth and the splits of Korbel champagne that acted as the escort cards," says Nicole. As a special touch, Nicole requested one loose rose added to her bridal bouquet. "As my father escorted me down the aisle of the cathedral, we stopped at the pew my mother was at and I was able to present her with this rose as a special token of how much I appreciated all she had done for the wedding," says Nicole.
