A Glamorous Restaurant Wedding at Sequoia in Washington, DC

Allison Robinson and Korey Neal chose Sequoia in Washington, DC, for their October wedding highlighted with mixed metals. "Sequoia offers floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the glistening Potomac River and illuminated Kennedy Center," Allison says. "The main dining and reception space is highlighted with a huge glass cross-hatched chandelier by artist Hitoshi Kuriyama, which served as inspiration for décor for our wedding." The geometric chandelier appeared on the modern wedding invitations, and the wedding cake with gold foil details. The ceremony took place in a sophisticated corner of the restaurant, complete with sheer white curtains, ghost chairs and a mirror welcome sign . "Along the aisle were floating candles that led to a minimal altar with columns holding tall vases containing beautiful white roses, orchids and hydrangeas," Allison says. "These same chairs and the flowers, which doubled as centerpieces, were also used for our dinner reception tables." The tables were dressed with white sequined tablecloths, metallic beaded glass flatware, gold candles and gold table numbers. Allison stunned in a beaded dress with spaghetti straps, a low back and a two-foot train, which she paired with chandelier earrings, a Swarovski crystal headpiece and clear high heels with crystal embellishments. Korey complemented her style in a classic black velvet tuxedo jacket with black silk lapels, as well as black velvet loafers. 
Our favorite #MakeTradition moment: "At our wedding, we continued a New Orleans tradition of a second line exit celebration led by a six-person brass band," Allison says. "The brass band played traditional second line songs while guiding our guests in dance to Sequoia's terrace overlooking the Potomac."
