A Glamorous Outdoor Wedding at the San Sophia Overlook in Telluride, Colorado
Shyann, 23, a floral designer, and Yurik, 25, a completions engineer, met in high school. They exchanged vows on their eight-year anniversary at 10,000 feet elevation at the San Sophia Overlook in Telluride, Colorado. Inspired by Shyann’s yellow diamond engagement ring, the couple decided to use a yellow, blue and silver color palette for a classy, clean look. Overall, the theme of the day was classy and glamorous meets rustic outdoors. Shyann, being a floral designer, did all the flowers herself, which were a combination of calla lilies, billy balls, sea holly and kiwi vines. They also tied in their love for mountain biking, which they did the night before their wedding, in the groomsmen’s pocket squares. With 38 guests, the couple loved their intimate wedding overlooking Telluride and the mountains. Shyann and Yurik made reservations for the reception at a restaurant in the mountain village of Telluride, but the whole mountain had a power outage for six hours. Instead, they improvised and went to a pizza place downtown that still had power. They had a more traditional reception a few days later back in Kansas at Shyann’s grandparent’s house.
