Sydney, 25, works in retail, and Ryan, 32, works in banking, met on a blind date that was set up through mutual friends. Eleven months later, Ryan proposed on a sailboat under the Gold Gate Bridge. They had their wedding at the Moss Mountain Farm in Roland, Arkansas, overlooking the Arkansas River Valley. “To say that his property is immaculate would be an understatement,” Sydney says. “It features a house situated on a farm with gardens as far as the eye can see.” They took advantage of the grounds to create a romantic ceremony in the gardens and a glamorous reception under the large trees. They used a simple, neutral color palette with gold accents for classic elegance. “I wanted to be able to look back on our wedding photos in 20 years and not feel as if anything we chose was particularly outdated,” Sydney says. With subtle modern accents in the beaded bridesmaid dresses and crystal chandeliers, the couple had a glamorous, timeless wedding.

The groom and his groomsmen wore charcoal gray suits. “Since our wedding was outdoors we felt like wearing a tux would be too much, not to mention too hot,” Sydney says. “Have you ever been to Arkansas in June? Scorcher! We chose traditional ties for the groomsmen and to set Ryan apart he wore a bow tie.”
The bridesmaids wore taupe floor-length dresses with rose beading. “We wanted to keep the overall theme of our wedding very classic looking,” Sydney says. “Classy, but interesting.”

Sydney carried white hydrangeas with pink roses sprinkled in. “I was hoping the pink roses would tie in the rose colored beading of the bridesmaid dresses,” she says. “I love hydrangeas. To me they are southern and beautiful, and I love how large and perfectly shaped they are.”

Sydney and Ryan dated for 11 months before he proposed. He took her on a surprise trip to San Francisco, California, and popped the question at sunset while they were on a sailboat under the Gold Gate Bridge. He even surprised her by having her parents and best friend be at dinner that evening. They spent the rest of the evening taking in the town. “I had a gorgeous round diamond on my hand, the man of my dreams on my arm, and my favorite people by my side,” she says. “It was perfect!”

“To say that his property is immaculate would be an understatement,” Sydney says. “It features a house situated on a farm with gardens as far as the eye can see. We knew we wanted the wedding and reception to be held outside and this venue offered plenty of space to do just that. We were out of town enough so that we sat on top of a mountain, overlooked a river and didn't have to worry about any noise ordinances!”
The reception was decorated with black table cloths, white chairs, gold china and crystal chandeliers.
Sydney and Ryan enjoyed a three-tier white buttercream cake. One layer was strawberry, one was traditional white wedding cake and one was hummingbird cake.
Instead of a groom’s cake Sydney and Ryan served mini banana puddings. One of Ryan’s favorites.
As a treat to their guests, Sydney and Ryan sent their guests home with mixed CDs. “Ryan and I still enjoy burning mixed CDs (yes, even with playlistsrnaround) so we thought it would be a fun way for our guests to remember our day,” Sydney says. “We included songs that were special to us and songs that were played during our reception.”
