A Glamorous Outdoor Wedding at Hermann Park in Houston, Texas

Gina Armstrong (36 and a physician) was not "that girl who had my entire wedding planned out years ago,” she says. But after meeting Andre Evans (31 and an attorney) and getting engaged, Gina says she scrolled through "thousands" of pictures to see what she liked. In the end, the pair decided on a glamorous wedding, which they modeled after an enchanted garden. “I was drawn to ceremonies with a lot of greenery and a romantic feel," Gina says. "My planner was integral in narrowing down the vision. He even sat with my mom, aunt and mother-in-law asking them about my personality, which was so helpful.” For the ceremony at Hermann Park, the couple’s nieces played flower girls in cream dresses with floral appliqués. During the indoor cocktail hour at the Buffalo Soldiers National Museum, guests dined on steak, potatoes and a cheese charcuterie in the lounge while a violinist played. Afterward, the newlyweds entered their reception to a shower of streamers and "it immediately turned into a party,” Gina says. “We were lifted in the air—without chairs!” Later, the bride and groom honored their years in college Greek life with a vocal performance from their brothers and sisters.
