A Glamorous Music-Inspired Wedding at Belo Mansion in Dallas, Texas

Tamara Lee (a business owner) and Mark Perry (a business owner) celebrated their nuptials with a glamorous ceremony and reception at Belo Mansion in Dallas, Texas. “We chose this space for it's classic columns outdoors, and the reception space had a private outdoor patio that let the 80-person party spread out and enjoy the fall weather,” Tamara says. “I wanted everything to be very simple and classic looking.”tMusic played an integral and sentimental role in the couple’s wedding day, since the bride’s grandfather is an internationally recognized conductor and a musician who has conducted major orchestras in Europe, South America and the United States. “I wanted the music to be grand like the bridal party gowns, so I asked my grandfather, international symphonic conductor Everett Lee, for suggestions of music to be heard before and during the ceremony so the music to have a dramatic air,” Tamara says. For the meet and greet before the ceremony, Tamara chose waltzes, marches, opera overtures and symphony movements from Ludwig van Beethoven, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Richard Georg Strauss and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Mark and his groomsmen walked out to “Siegfried's Rhine Journey” by Richard Wagner, and Tamara’s bridal party walked down the aisle to “Canzon V” by Giovanni Gabrieli. Tamara made a dramatic and regal entrance with George Frideric Handel’s “Music for the Royal Fireworks.” For the marriage ceremony, Tamara picked works by Wagner and Handel and Jules Massenet's “Meditation (Thais),” which her grandfather played on his violin at her father’s wedding in 1983. After their first kiss as husband and wife, the newlyweds walked up the aisle to the fourth movement of Beethoven's Symphony no. 5. “For the reception, I wanted to create an intimate setting with nothing but candlelight and amber uplighting," Tamara says of their chic black-and-white celebration. Centerpieces included vases filled with water and floating candles, which created a romantic ambient setting. —Marissa Hermanson
