A Glamorous, Modern Wedding at the Petroleum Club of Houston in Houston, Texas

For their nuptials, Marie Dang (36 and an interior designer) and Michael (Mike) Wang (37 and an IT consultant) designed a wedding with a lot of sparkle—plus a rich palette of black, white and gold—for a celebration that was glamorous from start to finish.

The couple chose to get married at the Petroleum Club of Houston, a private social club 35 floors above downtown Houston. The twinkling skyline was the perfect backdrop for their luxe, modern wedding.

Marie donned an ivory satin mermaid-style gown with beading and antique lace details, while the bridesmaids complemented her look with nude sparkly dresses in a similar silhouette. The couple added more shine to the décor with DIY table numbers on gold paper for an easy glam effect.

For a bit of flair and a nod to their shared heritage, the bride changed into a red and gold qipao, and the couple hired Chinese lion dancers to introduce them at the reception. “Guests loved it,” Marie says of the traditional costumed dance.
