A Glamorous Jewel-Toned Wedding at the Tribeca Rooftop in Manhattan, New York

Durga Sundaram (31, a designer) and Thomas McCurdy (34, an ER nurse) met during her roommate’s birthday party.“My old roommate's brother-in-law went to college with Tom,” Durga says. “I went out for my roommate's birthday and that's when I met Tom. We stayed up all night talking, but Tom didn't even ask for my number so I didn't think anything would come of it. Tom apparently kept asking his friend (my roommate's brother-in-law) for my info and months later he arranged for me to come to a charity event that Tom was planning. The crazy thing was that Tom lived a few buildings away from me during those few months, but it took this event for us to finally reconnect. We attended the annual El Dia del Mustache Fundraiser and amongst a sea of mustached men our magical journey began. Two and half years later, Tom proposed in the middle of the lake at the Central Park Boat House. Knowing full well that I couldn't swim, Tom picked this venue to ensure success! He also knew that 27 Dresses was one of my favorite movies (and inspiration for my business) and thought it would be cute to propose at a place that played a big part in that movie. He was forced to watch it a million times so it was practically ingrained in his brain!”When they started wedding planning in New York City, their venue was an easy choice.“We had our wedding at Tribeca Rooftop,” Durga says. “Tom and I both love NYC. We love going to rooftop bars. We also have very different tastes. He's a little more traditional and I'm more modern. We loved that everything was included, and the team at Tribeca was amazing. It was one of the first venues that we went to and we instantly fell in love, so we found a way to make it work into our budget!”
