A Glamorous, Intimate Backyard Wedding at a Private Home in Long Island, New York

In search of an aesthetic that felt inviting and intimate, Mary Grow (24 and works in marketing) and Jordan Rabinowitz (25 and an investment banker) tied the knot at the groom’s family home on Long Island.

Mary’s mother and grandmother accompanied her down the aisle, where a family friend presided over the poolside ceremony. “I still can’t believe how the backyard was transformed,” Mary says. “Everything looked beautiful, but still felt comfortable.”

The couple included their dog, Scrabble, in the day’s activities by outfitting the pup in a collar made from various white blooms. When guests weren’t dancing or feasting on filet mignon and lobster tails, they were encouraged to mingle among furniture vignettes scattered throughout the tented reception.

The couple brought in kegs from their favorite Brooklyn brewery to serve draft beers during the celebration. Other treats included mini hot dogs, caviar and a cake with different-flavored tiers: a strawberry and cream and a black and white with chocolate ganache. “Everyone got their own miniature cakes and we ended the night with Shake Shack and pizza,” Mary says of the fun eats.
