Teresa Huang (31 and a marketing manager) and Jeff Day (32 and a brand manager) transformed a warehouse in downtown Austin into a romantic, festive hot spot. Since the couple got married on New Year’s Eve, they focused on making the wedding easy and fun for guests. They didn’t let the winter date stand in the way of Teresa’s dream garden party, covering the venue in greenery and flowers for what she calls a “Gatsby-meets-warehouse theme.” Teresa's dress even included Art Deco details. Jeff and Teresa embraced the DIY aspects of planning their wedding, creating a hanging display of escort cards made of Chinese red envelopes from Taiwan. The colors for the rest of the evening were dark and sultry: black, burgundy, white and gold, with pops of neon pink. “I wanted to incorporate a lot of floral elements into the wedding for a soft, romantic contrast against the industrial warehouse,” Teresa says. The glamorous tables included black tapered candlesticks and glassware to reflect candlelight. The couple created a custom neon wedding logo that added to the day’s celebration. “If you’re having fun, nobody will even notice the small hiccups,” Teresa says. “I lost my fur stole and got confetti trapped in the delicate silk chiffon pleats in my gown—all signs of a great party!”
