A Glamorous, Garden Wedding in Norcross, Georgia
A suburban Atlanta, Georgia, garden, was the setting for the late-summer nuptials between Stephany Bang (27 and an administrator) and Alex Kyaw (27 and a developer). The pair met randomly and discovered they had common friends before, and when they started dating and they realized they wanted to spend their lives together. “I wanted an outdoor ceremony because nature provides a beautiful scenery that doesn't require too much decor,” Stephany says of the space. The pair were married under a gazebo with white hydrangeas accenting the aisle. An intimate gathering of their closest friends and family—some coming from as far away as Myanmar—looked on. Stephany wore a mermaid-style tulle gown with her own jewelry, while Alex and his groomsmen wore black tuxedos with a single white rose boutonniere. Stephany’s bridesmaids wore glamorous rose gold sequin floor-length gowns and carried white hydrangeas. Rose gold, light pink and gold were accent colors for the ceremony and reception. The reception moved indoors to protect guests from the mosquitoes. Decor inside was clean, white and modern. “I'm all about efficiency and recycling, so the flowers from the outdoor ceremony were reused. It was simply moved from outside to inside, onto a table,” Stephany says. Guests enjoyed a buffet with an open bar. The wedding cake was vanilla with strawberry frosting and pink roses on top. A DJ spun songs as guests danced well into the evening. Stephany shared her advice for future couples: “We share everything, from our family to our finances. There is no yours or mine, because his is mine and mine is his. It's ours.” —Caroline Eubanks
