Nicola LaBerge (25, an Occupational Therapist) and Matthew Stubbs (29, a Pilot) looked at many venues before ultimately deciding to hold their intimate wedding at Nicola's parent's fifteen acre river valley property. The couple's theme was inspired by the natural setting of their location--the couple exchanged their vows in front of a birch branch arch Nicola's father had built--with a color palette of burgundy and gold to match the decor of the reception inside Nicola's parent's large, open-concept home. Nicola's striking bridal style was inspired by the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton--her red rose bouquet brought out the vintage elegance of her low cut, second-hand Vera Wang dress and birdcage veil. After a traditional Ukrainian dinner, everyone was invited to explore the property and play board and lawn games. "The most important thing to us was for all of our guests to feel comfortable and welcome, and to really enjoy the day," Nicola says.
