A Glamorous, Coastal Thai Wedding at the Ritz-Carlton in Marina del Rey, California

"There is something to be said about the feeling you get the moment you meet 'the one'—you just know something feels right about this person, and it's something you have never felt before," says Vicharin “Pebbles” Vadakan (a vice president of marketing). "It's something all the great couples speak about but you don't really trust it until you experience it too." That's what she felt when she met Robert School (an IT manager) at a coffee shop and they talked for four hours. "I joke that I'm his 90-day fiancee," Pebbles says, because Robert proposed three months later, while they were vacationing on Catalina Island. When it came to picking a venue for their fusion wedding, the Ritz-Carlton in Marina del Rey, California, was their first choice. "We love the ocean and our coastal lifestyle, and we definitely wanted to get married by the water," Pebbles says. "It has all the right elements: a romantic ceremony space in the Rose Garden, a coastal setting right along the marina, a gorgeous ballroom that could accommodate over 200 guests." Pebbles and Robert's day began with a Thai ceremony (to honor her family's heritage), followed by an afternoon tea while the couple changed for their Western wedding ceremony. A "coastal elegance" theme, brought to life by nautical details and shades of Tiffany blue and light yellow, tied together every aspect of the couple's elaborate multipart wedding. —Meghan Overdeep
