A Glamorous, Classic Wedding at Down Town Club in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Joseph Blackburn (29 and an attorney) and Meghan Blackburn (27 and a procurement strategy manager) met while watching the 2008 World Series at a local bar in State College, PA. Four years later, Joe and Meghan were late for dinner with family when Joe quickly asked Meghan to go for a walk with him before entering the restaurant. Given that they were already late and Meghan was hungry, she was not pleased with Joe's request. As they were returning to the restaurant, Joe convinced Meghan to make one last stop in front of a beautifully decorated Christmas tree. To Meghan's surprise, Joe got down on one knee and proposed. They first chose to have their ceremony at the historical, Christ Church, in Philadelphia, PA. "It was important for us to be married in a traditional church setting," Meghan says. Next they decided to have their reception at the Down Town Club. "We wanted a timeless look in the center of historical Philadelphia and this venue fit the bill," she says. To keep a classic look for their wedding, Joe and Meghan decided on a black and white color palette with gold and silver metallic accents. Their flowers created a "quaint French garden" look with elaborate bouquets and centerpieces made from various flowers, greens and berries. The reception tables were decorated with tall candelabras and table runners made with greens and flowers. Soft lighting created a warm, intimate feel to the otherwise glamorous decor. On their wedding day, Joe and Meghan wanted to be able to really enjoy every moment and, in the end, they credit their family, friends and vendors for the perfect day.
