A Glamorous, Boho Wedding at Club Continental in Orange Park, Florida

Tammie Marie Lee (35 and an executive administrative assistant) and Yuri Diaz's (34 and a real estate agent) wedding was rich with natural and ethereal beauty. “I wanted something romantic, slightly moody, with a little bohemian vibe mixed in—a wedding that was eclectic to match our personal style,” Tammie says. “Our wedding ceremony and reception was at Club Continental, a serene and magical location, a resort and private club built in 1923.” The couple chose a dramatic palette of burgundy, vintage golds and navy for the day. Tammie and Yuri said their vows in the morning in a ceremony on the St Johns River beneath the mansion’s towering oak trees, which were swaying with Spanish moss. The reception for their 63 guests took place in the Club Continental’s Garden Room. “We were surrounded by almost wall-to-wall windows, giving us spectacular views of the grounds,” Tammie says. Her advice for other brides: “Don’t feel like you have to be tied down to antiquated traditions—make your own.” —Carolyn Meers

"My dress was a mermaid-style French tulle, organza and hand-sewn lace concoction in the shades of blush and ivory," says Tammie, who had her bouquet and flower crown crafted by Helen from Ever After florist. "I absolutely love flowers, and I knew I wanted bouquets that looked like they were just picked from the fields—hand tied, romantic and just a little wild."
"A very talented and sweet calligraphy artist, Molly, made our watercolor-penned invite suite," Tammie says. "The invites and RSVP cards were on dusty blue hand-torn paper, and we paired them with cream-colored envelopes."
The crimson boutonnieres reflected the day's romantic, moody jewel tones. "We’re definitely not afraid to play with color, so we went with the loveliest jewel-tone hues in slate and indigo, blush, ivory, vintage gold and splashes of deep merlot and burgundy," Tammie says.
Bridesmaids wore crimson gowns with convertible necklines. "This way they all had a cohesive look but could still showcase their individuality," Tammie says. Groomsmen donned classic dark navy tuxedos.
"Holy cuteness: the flower girls and ring bearer! They were probably my favorite part of our whole wedding styling," Tammie says. "My three tiny flower girls were in ankle-length vintage blush French tulle dresses with hand-sewn pearls on the bodice, ballet shoes with satin ribbons, greenery halo crowns and these adorable little bolero jackets I found since it was nippy that day."
“We had an outdoors morning ceremony in the absolutely gorgeous riverfront garden of the mansion, under 100-year-old oak trees draped in Spanish moss,” Tammie says.
Seating assignments were posted on a clear piece of glass in a white frame, which was decorated with a swath of blush roses.
Tammie's calligrapher also created table numbers in indigo blue, which were placed on brass holders. Navy glass votives accented each table's centerpieces.
Tammie and Yuri's first dance took place where they said their vows. "Our first-dance song was to 'Like I’m Gonna Lose You' by Meghan Trainor. We danced outside under the old oak trees with our loved ones surrounding us," Tammie says. "It was so meaningful and magical."
Club Continental in Orange Park, Florida, provided an elegant setting for the reception, which took place in its Garden Room.
White votive candles and vintage-style ivory plates were accented with centerpieces made with white anemones, dark red ranunculus, black dahlias, peach garden roses and burgundy clematis. They were all set atop a velvet gray runner.
In addition to three cakes, Tammie and Yuri offered their guests cupcakes.
"I ordered little jars of French jams as favors. We covered the lids with little squares of muslin cut the day before the wedding and tied with baker's twine," Tammie says. "They came out super-cute. "
"I wanted to surprise Yuri, so I ordered three cakes with different flavors," says Tammie, who worked with For Goodness Cake bakery. "It was so much fun coming up with the flavor combinations and looks, and my baker, Jen, was amazing."
