A Glamorous Ballroom Wedding at the Grand Del Mar in San Diego, California

rn Love for purple gleamed through the lavender, fuchsia, blush and gold palette that decorated details of the high-ceiling, glamorous wedding inside the elegant ballroom at the Grand Del Mar in San Diego, California. “I have always loved the color purple, so I wanted to be sure it was incorporated into our wedding in many ways,” Christine Fischer (25 and in commercial lending) says of her marriage to Joe DePillo (25 and in corporate strategy). “I opted for a softer palette with a pop of color, and I wanted each detail to make a statement and to be filled with glamour.” And it was, thanks to the event planning of Coronado Weddings, who made sure the venue was decked out in overflowing flower arrangements and glittery furnishings. To fit the luxurious venue, Christine wore a strapless white wedding dress with a ball gown silhouette designed by Eve of Milady. All the details were photographed by Victor Sizemore Photography. The ceremony took place inside the Capella Chapel at the Grand Del Mar, with marble detail and elegant gold chandeliers that hung over the aisle lined with white candles and purple petals. The reception that followed was held in the Elizabeth Ballroom, with dining tables covered in gold, glittery tablecloths and decorated in lush flower arrangements dripping with crystals, arranged by Blush Botanicals. We got a glimpse of the pink, gold and white invitations, and were awed by how perfectly the stationery embodied the wedding's elegant look and feel. "Our invitations were made out of a blush, laser-cut sleeve over a nude backdrop with over 50 Swarovski crystals outlining our monogram," Christine says. "The inside was pressed champagne ink with our accommodations card that had a drawing of the Grand Del Mar."
