A Glamorous Art Deco Wedding at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City

Alyssa Bernstein and Corey Katz's wedding was full of glamorous and personal details . "It was super important to us that our wedding was a reflection of our personalities," Alyssa says. "We wanted to take a classic New York City wedding and flip it on its head with dashing and modern touches." They chose a black and white theme with ethereal green and white flowers. To start the festivities, guests entered the venue, Cipriani 42nd Street, and gathered near a round hedge before proceeding to the ceremony site. A columned chuppah overflowing with green and white flowers anchored the expansive ballroom. "The black and gold of our ceremony gave a glamorous art deco vibe that juxtaposed the angelic flowers," Alyssa says. For the reception, Alyssa and Corey focused on "party vibes" with multicolored lighting, a black-and-white dance floor and art deco place settings. "We created three different types of tables to bring depth and dimension into the room, including a mixture of mirrored furniture, black linens, water fountains of cymbidium orchids, boxwood hedge runners, market-style white flowers, votive candles and black candelabras," Alyssa says. Corey designed a custom tuxedo with some personal touches, including the wedding date stitched into the inside of his jacket, along with a white bow tie. Alyssa wore an Oscar de la Renta gown with a full skirt and appliqué detailing. "The silk pearl fabric that is wrapped around my bouquet of black ranunculus was cut from my mother’s wedding dress," she says. "My parents have been married for nearly 35 years, and I wanted to bring in their energy as we entered into our marriage."
