A Glamorous and Modern Wedding at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa in Bonita Springs, Florida

Originally from Botswana, Nikki Mannathoko and Peter Kuhlman met 16 years ago. They remained friends during college when Peter relocated to the US and Nikki studied in South Africa, and reconnected during summers in Botswana. They finally got together when Nikki moved to the United States and were soon planning a glamorous, modern wedding at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa in Bonita Springs, Florida. "We wanted a small and intimate destination wedding somewhere warm with tropical vibes," Nikki says. "We live in Massachusetts, and Florida was fitting because we have family in Naples." The ceremony took place in the garden of the hotel, where the couple set up a wedding arch with draping and white flowers. Blooms also appeared in arrangements set atop mirrored pedestals at the beginning of the aisle, which complemented the ghost chairs. "Our ceremony was a fusion of Botswana and American Christian traditions. We had a sand ceremony and also lit a memorial candle to include our loved ones who have passed on," Nikki says. The reception continued with a color palette of whites, greens and metallics. Showstopping design elements included tall centerpieces with golden column stands, floating candles, pillar candles and large flower arrangements. "The decor was so dreamy and romantic and we keep looking back at our gorgeous pictures to relive the day," Nikki says. The bride wore formfitting wedding dress with a low back, micro-sequin infused lace with a floral pattern and an overlay tulle skirt that she removed after the ceremony. Peter went with a custom black-and-white tuxedo jacket and black pants.
