With the classic story of city girl falls for country boy, Jessica Salkeld (28 and a sales representative) and Spencer Crane (27 and an investment analyst) brought their styles together for their glamorous pink wedding theme. We love the subtle tributes to Spencer’s style with his Bud Light signature drink, deer-antler-adorned cocktail napkins and his favorite flavor—chocolate peanut butter—for the cake. “For his fourth request, he did not want too much pink,” Jessica says. “I do not believe that there can ever be too much pink.” Pink—from fuchsia to blush—decorated every detail along with gold and crystal accents. Lisa Shulz from the Posh Planner worked with the couple to bring their vision to life. Lakewood Country Club in Rockville, Maryland, was the perfect backdrop, with its amazing ability to be customizable into what they wanted. “I knew from the beginning I wanted our wedding to be glamorous and a little over the top,” Jessica says. “One of my main goals was just to wow our guest as they walked into our reception.” Towering centerpieces, textured linens and crystal chandeliers filled the room. We love the peonies and carnations, gorgeously arranged by Holly Chapple from Holly Chapple Flowers, which added a little romance throughout the decor. There are so many details we love—see them all, beautifully captured by Rebekah Hoyt Photography, below. A tip from Jessica: “One of the only things you can really be in control of on your wedding day is your mood—how your feeling and how you react if something goes not so perfect. You want to look back on your day and remember being happy and excited, not upset or mad if something does not go the way you planned it.”

Elegant Taupe and White Wedding Invitations
Jessica carried peonies, carnations and roses in shades of blush and purple in her lush bouquet. She loved how the purple accented the pink color palette.
The bridesmaids carried variations of pink arrangements for the glam wedding. One bridesmaid carried fuchsia and blush carnations for a gorgeous ombre look.
“The shoes I chose were actually the same designer my mom had worn when she and my father had gotten married,” Jessica says. “In regards to the shoes, I am five-foot-one and Spencer is six-foot-two, so I knew I needed a high shoe to give me a little boost for the day.”
“We got married at Lakewood Country Club in Rockville, Maryland,” Jessica says. “My father has been a member of the club for many years. I always thought the club would be the perfect location for my wedding. After their renovations several years ago, it helped make my decision pretty easy. I thought the decor inside would go perfectly with my glam theme.”

The bridesmaids wore gorgeous blue dress that had a beautiful high ruffled collar. “Since I felt like my dress made such a statement, I wanted their dress to leave the same impression,” Jessica says. “The teal color caught my eye instantly and I thought it would complement the other colors we were using in the wedding.”
Elegant, Classic Taupe and Ivory Escort Cards
“I knew from the beginning that I wanted our wedding to be glamorous and a little over the top,” Jessica says. “One of my main goals was just to wow our guests as they walked into our reception. My main colors were easy to choose being that they are my favorite, pink and gold.”
The reception tables were decorated with pink linens adorned with fabric petals. They were topped with crystal candle votives and pink peony and rose centerpieces. Wanting to add even more glam to the luxe reception, Jessica and Spencer added gold chargers to the place settings.

Spencer asked for only four things at his wedding to Jessica. One of them was that the cake was chocolate peanut butter, so that’s what they had. Jessica’s sister found someone to make a custom cake topper based on a photo of the couple—complete with Spencer holding a fishing pole, which added a little of his personality into the decor as well.
Jessica and Spencer danced to “A Woman Like You” by Lee Brice for their first dance. Spencer played the same song on the night he proposed. The pink and gold room was decorated with romantic pink uplighting the perfectly matched the wedding theme.
