A Glam Old Hollywood-Inspired Wedding at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan

Old Hollywood glamour was met with historic Michigan charm for Ashley and Tom's classic wedding day at The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn. After meeting as mere high schoolers, Ashley Aldridge (27 and a physician assistant) and Tom Meidanis (29 and in IT) dated for nearly 10 years before Tom popped the question at the end of Crissy Field near the Golden Gate Bridge. After Ashely said yes, the San Francisco-based couple quickly began planning their fall wedding in their home state of Michigan. "We're both from the Detroit area, so having our event there was a top priority for us," Ashley says. "I booked the venue without seeing it, and later went to tour it when we were home visiting family. "I'll never forget walking into Lovett Hall for the first time. It was breathtaking – even unadorned and empty – with its beautiful Burmese teak floors and crystal chandeliers." Drawing inspiration from the venue's historic charm, Ashley worked to incorporate glam, Hollywood-inspired elements into her big day – especially when it came to her personal style. "I wore a custom Allure gown along with a crystal comb in my hair from J. Crew," she explains. "I added a vintage-inspired BHLDN cape to my dress during the cocktail hour and changed into a tea-length retro dress by Trashy Diva after the ceremony just so I could keep on dancing!" After witnessing the couple exchange vows in a traditional Greek Orthodox ceremony at St. George church in Southgate, the couple's 230 wedding guests enjoyed dinner and dancing at the Henry Ford Museum in nearby Dearborn. "We love bourbon and all things Michigan, so we served Michigan craft beers and Faygo along with plenty of ouzo since Tom is Greek," Ashley says. "Our close friend even created a beautiful watercolor painting of a tree that we used as a guestbook. Our guests were encouraged to leave their thumbprint as well as a lovely sentiment  – it's something that we'll cherish forever."
