A Glam, Old Hollywood-Inspired Wedding at Casa Rondena Winery in Albuquerque, New Mexico

Most of New Mexico has a strong Southwestern feel, but Casa Rondena Winery in Albuquerque felt more like a private European villa. That’s why it was a no-brainer for Madelyn Ikeda and Brendan Cahill to get married there. The green vineyards and earthy, rustic buildings on the property are breathtaking. Plus, there’s a view of the Sandia Mountains that’s nothing short of magical. (Madelyn and Brendan say their guests were floored by how beautiful it was. They even got to take a tour of the winery and do a wine tasting during the cocktail hour.) Madelyn wanted to bring a theme of old Hollywood glam to her wedding: She loves classic films, and brought in subtle details from the music to the wedding party fashion to pull it off. Wedding designers Vicki and Jerry Newsom of Orange September Events brought old Hollywood glam to the winery with a palette of blush, gray, silver and gold and lots of sparkly details. They even invented the signature cocktails: a pair of white and red wine sangrias that were a huge hit. Another sweet touch? Madelyn and Brendan wanted to dazzle their guests with fiery and flavorful treats from New Mexico Pie Company, so they brought in an assortment of delicious desserts (and don’t miss the flamingo cake topper on their wedding cake)!
