A Glam, Modern Rooftop Wedding at the Westin Hotel in Sarasota, Florida

Angelica Oquendo and Jonathan Joyner pulled off an intimate, modern affair with ocean views and glam metallic touches for their wedding at the Westin Hotel. The pair took advantage of the venue’s coastal setting by hosting a rooftop ceremony and cocktail hour, giving guests a bird’s eye view of Sarasota Bay and the city skyline. With the help of Jennifer Matteo Event Planning, Angelica and Jonathan transformed the terrace into a glam scene with sleek ghost chairs, crystal chandeliers and statement arrangements of orchids and hydrangeas in tall silver vases. “I dos” and drinks were followed by a sophisticated reception with hints of Spanish flair. “Our seven-course meal was our staple piece of the night. Indulging in amazing food all night while entertaining good conversation as amazing music echoed in the background was everything we wanted and more,” Angelica says. “The dessert bar was a huge plus for not only our guests, but our children as well.” Carrying over the streamlined aesthetic of the ceremony, bouquets of white orchids and floating candles in clear hurricane vases topped the tables. Gold chargers and rose gold napkin rings added just the right amount of glitz. Even the wedding cake got in on the theme, with its layers of white fondant brushed with edible gold paint.
