A Glam, Classic Indian Wedding at the Marriott St. Louis Grand Hotel in St. Louis, Missouri

“Red is a color commonly used in Hindu weddings, so we put a modern twist on tradition by using bright pink and more muted details,” Mansai Venkatesh (31 and an attorney) says of her and William (Bill) Hoag’s (38 and a lending consultant) chic fete.

“We wanted our outfits to take center stage,” Mansai says of donning a fuchsia and gold silk sari before changing into a mint lehenga and gold dupatta, or shawl. “I loved the idea of blending two cultures while keeping a modern, Indian design with touches of American tradition.”

Manasi accessorized with gold bangles, a gilded clutch and glittered flats, which she later swapped for peep-toe heels.

The groom sported a champagne and gold kurta during the baraat and Indian ceremony, where Manasi and Bill sealed the deal under a mandap draped in blush and ivory fabric. At the end of the evening, guests took home framed photos that Bill had captured during the couple’s travels around the world.

Arrangements included a multicolored mix of hydrangeas, spray roses, tulips, lisianthus and carnations.

A raspberry- buttercream-filled almond cake was served for dessert.
