Vanessa Robles (29 and a glitter artist) and Christopher Foster (29 and a petroleum landman) barely knew each other in high school, but Christopher had a crush on Vanessa. The couple started talking through Facebook, and eventually started dating. Turns out, they have a lot in common: Both are the first born in a separate sets of twins, they both have January birthdays and they once lived down the street from one another but never knew. Christopher proposed to Vanessa in front of a restaurant of strangers. The wedding ceremony was outside Agave Real in Katy, Texas. “I wanted a very romantic wedding located outside with a Spanish feel,” says the bride. The bride chose and made all the decor, which had a Halloween meets Gatsby theme. The ceremony transported guests to a magical vineyard in Spain, complete with a fireplace, an arch full of greenery and flowers and a rustic cross at the front. Vanessa and Christopher are festive people who love to entertain, and since their wedding date fell the day before Halloween, they turned their reception into an elegant Halloween party. A gold leaf skeleton greeted guests on their way in and the centerpieces of manzanita trees and tall hydrangea-filled vases glowed. Vanessa created gold leaf and glitter masks for each guest to wear on the dance floor and to take home after the celebration.

The groom wore a white dinner jacket in memory of his grandfather, who passed away unexpectedly a few months before the wedding. Christopher’s grandfather wore a white dinner jacket to his own wedding 61 years prior.
Since the wedding was taking place the day before Halloween, each guest would have their own mask as a favor and a required 'attire' for the dance floor. The bride hand made all 85 masks with glitter and golf leaf.

Vanessa chose lots of white and green flowers with peach garden roses for the bouquets.

Vanessa created all of her own decor and centerpieces. She decorated manzanita trees with flower lights and made all of the masks in glitter and gold leaf for her guests to take home as favors.
The bride painted a skeleton in gold leaf for the Halloween themed reception party. Though Halloween parties are traditionally spooky and dark, she chose to go with bright colors for a classy, elegant atmosphere.
