The welcome bags, left at the hotels, gave guests a peek at the color scheme of the day. Annabel's mother used purple-and-yellow floral-print fabric to make bags that packaged things like snacks, maps, and a welcome letter, and then tied them with a yellow ribbon.
The escort cards hung from the trees in the garden with yellow ribbon. The cards were handmade with swirly yellow tissue paper or geometric-print purple-and-yellow paper.
Different silver containers, like large urns and small mint julep cups, gave the centerpieces a uniform look. Clusters of purple-and-yellow flowers, like hydrangeas, lisianthus, iris, calla lilies, and Billie balls gave each table a unique aesthetic. The bride's mother's handmade, fabric birds were a hit with guests and helped break up the color scheme of some of the solid purple centerpieces.
Guests dined under a tent separated from the ballroom of The Dumbarton House by white French doors. Dozens of white lanterns in different sizes hung above the lavender tables.
Hand-stitched signs reserved the family pews at the church. Clusters of white hydrangeas and ivy adorned each row.
Crisp white linens set the canvas for the translucent, lavender dinnerware. The menus were tucked inside pale purple napkins and adorned with orchid blooms.
Long lavender bridesmaid dresses with two-toned sashes complemented the wedding color scheme. Tom and his groomsmen kept the look classic with black tuxedos and ties.
Dark purple orchids, yellow calla lilies, green cymbidium orchids, and purple anemones made up the bride's vibrant bouquet. Thick white ribbon was wrapped around the stems and affixed with a neat row of pearl pins.
As a nod to the bride's heritage, the couple served Venezuelan churros and hot chocolate to give guests a pick-me-up when the party started to die down.
Fresh, purple hydrangeas topped the white fondant-covered cake. A purple iris-colored floral pattern was piped onto each of the four tiers, while a thick white ribbon circled the bottom.
