The Bride Janna Harris, 31, a neuroscientist at the University of Kansas Medical Center The Groom Loyd Gattis, 35, an attorney at Spencer, Fane, Britt & Browne LLP The Date May 22 Going for a laid-back, garden-party vibe, Janna and Loyd hosted an outdoor ceremony and reception with organic flower arrangements and a neutral color palette accented with cheerful bursts of coral, yellow and orange.

An orange-red ranunculus bud wrapped in twine complemented Loyd’s sage green and white tie.
As evening fell, the garden reception was illuminated by numerous candles and strings of globe lights that cast a romantic glow on the setting.
Janna and Loyd danced to “Good Things,” by The BoDeans, for their first dance.
Crisp white table linens and wooden folding chairs were a neutral backdrop against the lush garden surroundings.
A moss-covered ampersand and crisp white ribbons connected the bride’s and groom’s chairs.
Sling-back heels in a bright floral pattern added a punch of color to the bridesmaids’ attire.
Neutral-colored escort cards were affixed to suspended orange ribbons with tiny clothespins.
Organic tablescapes and a variety of blooms in eclectic vases brought a casual elegance and summery feel to the tables.
Janna’s elegant, loose arrangement of pink, coral, orange and yellow blooms was accented with pink hypericum berries and greenery.
A framed chalkboard sign directed guests from the ceremony to the reception.
In lieu of a traditional tiered cake, the couple served cupcakes to their guests and requested a petite buttercream cake for the cake cutting.
Guests played croquet and bocce ball on the lawn of the mansion during the cocktail hour.
