Kayla Egofske (27 and an engineer) and Greg Opperman (26 and an engineer) met on Match.com. On one almost typical Wednesday night after work, Greg proposed. It was important to Kayla and Greg that they could invite all of their family and friends to their wedding. So, they needed a venue that could accommodate everyone. They also wanted to get married outside, but have an inside option in they needed it. Highlands Ranch Mansion was perfect for them. “I wanted my wedding to be fun but classy,” Kayla says. “This mansion was perfect, because it was a very elegant building with a massive front and back lawn. We chose the front lawn for the wedding and had the back lawn for games during cocktail hour. The mansion is old, charming and elegant.” Not wanting to decide on just one color, Kayla and Greg used shades of gray, white, green, pick and yellow. They added gold accents in throughout the reception for a little glamorous drama. At the end of the night, a cappella singers sang goodbye to guests because the “only chick flick Greg likes is Pitch Perfect!”

Kayla wore a strapless tulle ball gown. “I did not want embellishments or anything sparkly,” she says. “I had the sleeves cut off, and I had the horsehair on the bottom removed.” She completed the look with a Sara Gabriel sash and chapel-length veil.
Kayla carried roses, dahlias and stock in her lush green, pink and white bouquet.
Greg wore a classic white ranunculus and a white rose in his boutonniere.
“My flower girl, my now niece, was the cutest,” Kayla says. “She was basically a ball of ivory tulle with a matching bow the size of her head! She was 3 years old. People still talk about their hearts melting when they saw her.”
“We had a lot of people to invite, between our large families and our very social parents,” Kayla says. “We wanted to get married outside, with the option of moving inside if the weather is bad. We wanted the reception to be inside. I wanted my wedding to be fun but classy. This mansion was perfect, because it was a very elegant building with a massive front and back lawn. We chose the front lawn for the wedding and had the back lawn for games during cocktail hour. The mansion is old, charming and elegant. We didn't have to worry too much about capacity issues, and that was great too.”
People’s places were written on popsicle sticks decorated with fake roses.
“We are engineers, so we love puzzles and games,” Kayla says. “So we had our guests sign puzzle pieces.”

Kayla and Greg kept their reception simple with white linens and chair covers. They used a mix of tall and small centerpieces to add some dimension to the room.
Lavender and yellow roses were displayed in tall glass vases on the reception tables for lush centerpieces.
Kayla and Greg enjoyed a four-tier white wedding cake decorated with gold glitter and blush sugar flower rosettes.
