A Garden-Inspired Beach Wedding at Caribbean Jewel in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina
Taylor Seymour (23 and a content marketing manager at Borrowed & Blue) and Caleb Agnew (24 and a doctoral student at the University of Virginia) created their entire wedding themselves. It was definitely a labor of love—with lots of help from their family members—and we’re impressed! Pulling inspiration from the beach and ocean, Taylor and Caleb used shades of white, blue and green for their palette and mixed rustic wooden details with modern geometric accents that totally worked. Although the Virginia-based couple started planning a wedding a little closer to home, they decided it didn’t feel like them. So, they canceled everything and started over for a destination day. Although they tossed around several options, they wanted all their friends and family to join them, so they landed on the Outer Banks in North Carolina, with its slower speed, beachy vibe and stunning views. They found Caribbean Jewel in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, a gorgeous vacation home that fit both of their families in the same place, which also had beach access for the ceremony and plenty of lawn space for the reception. Some of our favorite details were the amazing overgrown floral arrangements—check out Taylor's bouquet!—from Amore Events by Cody, which added a garden twist to the beachy fete. There's so much to love about this wedding—see all our favorite details, captured by the talented Nancy Ray Photography, below.
