A Wedding With Scottish Flair at Rutgers Gardens in New Brunswick, New Jersey

Gloria Mui (33 and a writer) and Robert Dick (35 and a loss-prevention manager) wanted everything to represent their personalities at the wedding. Since they love pork, one on the first things they agreed on was having a pig roast at the reception. This, combined with their affinity for hiking, made it easy to choose the Rutgers Gardens in New Brunswick, New Jersey, as their outdoor venue. Of course, even more pig was on the menu. Roasted meat, pigs-in-a-blanket and bacon-wrapped scallops were all available for their guests. "It took a lot of thought, but we managed to sprinkle little pieces of us everywhere: from the pig-shaped parking sign to the variety of supermarket flowers around the cabin—the usual stuff I buy, and the usual stuff he buys for me," Gloria says. They even incorporated a little family history. Acknowledging Robert's Scottish roots, they had half the wedding party dressed in traditional kilts. But Robert says the games at cocktail hour were what really reflected them.  Friends and family members alike channeled their playful side with foam swords, a giant Jenga game and corn hole.
