A Fun Wedding at The Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, Florida

Rachel Rivero (29 and an attorney) and Jeremy Davidson (29 and an attorney) met in law school and had their first date at an art museum. Keeping this in mind, Jeremy popped the question on his birthday at the Yale Center for British Art. “The proposal was a complete surprise and a tough feat to pull off in a museum where 'shhh-ing' is encouraged," says Rachel. Within a year, the couple planned a fun neutral wedding at The Biltmore Hotel with colorful accents. “We were inspired by the murals at Wynwood Walls in the Miami Design District, with such bright colors next to blank walls,” says Rachel. “We also wanted to offset the old-world look of the Biltmore with bright colors to keep the feel of the wedding more modern and fun.” The couple had an outdoor ceremony surrounded by palm trees and lined with simple white folding chairs. White calla lilies and hydrangeas on white bases were placed along the stairs as Rachel and Jeremy said “I do.” The celebration then continued with a fun cocktail hour and reception inside The Biltmore. Guests enjoyed passed hors d’oeuvres, including bacon-wrapped scallops and lamb lollipops, before finding their seats at square gold-linen-covered tables named after countries Rachel and Jeremy visited on their travels. After a steak and Chilean sea bass dinner, the couple treated their 110 guests to a gold-accented marble and coconut cake. For an added twist, Rachel’s dad also set up a cigar station on the balcony. The rest of the night was spent between snapping pictures in a photo booth and dancing to a playlist filled with songs picked by the couple. “The dancing at our wedding really reflected our taste in music, and our personalities," says Rachel.
