A Fun Traditional Wedding at Latrobe's On Royal in New Orleans, Louisiana

Inspired by their mutual love for New Orleans, Samantha Raymond and Tomas Elfmont planned a fun wedding at the Latrobe's On Royal accented in royal blue, gold and pink. The day began with a private first look before Sam and Tomas joined their wedding party for a trolley ride and short walk to the ceremony. Tall white candles in clear-glass cylinder vases lined the indoor ceremony as 108 guests watched from rows of black folding chairs. The couple had a Buddhist blessing officiated by Sam's uncle under a romantic garden wedding arch accented with white roses, white hydrangea, strings of crystals and tea light candles in hanging glass orbs. The celebration continued soon after with a fun cocktail hour. All were encouraged to write anniversary letters to the couple, in lieu of a guest book, as they sampled crayfish pies, fried green tomatoes, local boiled shrimp ad other appetizers. Inside the reception, round tables were accented with navy linens, dark chiavari chairs and candlelight. Each friend and family member found his or her seat at tables named after the couple's favorite places in New Orleans. After dinner, all were treated them to key lime, sweet potato praline and other pies from Sam and Tomas’s favorite local bakery, Shake Sugary. The day also included a few surprises. A friend of the couple took a few moments to serenade them with an original song. The celebration ended with a memorable Second Line tradition led by Lagniappe Brass Band. “There is nothing like the wild celebration of participating in a Second-Line!” says Sam. “Our family and friends embraced the fun as they danced and stomped and whirled their way down Royal Street.”
